Human and social services administration poses a unique set of challenges in budgeting, hiring and retention, strategic planning, program evaluation, and other aspects of public management. Students in this course will learn how to navigate these challenges, developing skills needed to support staff and to meet citizens where they are. By the end of this course, students will have demonstrated their ability to:
- Undertake strategic planning for a social service program;
- Compare and analyze alternative systems for providing social and human services;
- Evaluate outcomes from social service programs
Administering Social Service Programs will meet as a weekend intensive.
