This course continues the introduction to the ancient Greek language that began in Ancient Greek I. The sequence helps students develop an ability to read classical Greek texts from Homer to the New Testament. The dialect that we will study, Attic, is that found in the works of Sophocles, Plato, and Thucydides, among others, and knowledge of Attic is an excellent basis for learning to read Greek in other dialects.  Emphasis will be placed on building vocabulary, recognizing word forms, and understanding syntax.

Students will register for 4 credits using the variable credit CRN of Greece and Italy: An Artistic and Literary Odyssey. Contact faculty for more information.
