Students will gain an intermediate knowledge and skills in business finance and management. This course is part of the Business Finance and Management series, andfor students interested in the successful development and operation of business and social enterprises. Students can expect to develop their knowledge and skills in managerial accounting and business economics for entrepreneurs and managers. The learning objectives for this program will include but not limited to: Managerial Accounting (Financial Ratio analysis, Investment, Budgeting, International Finance), Investment planning and Macro Business Economics: (Aggregate supply and demand, Taxation and Fiscal policies, the Banking and Federal Reserve systems, International Finance and Trade). This program is designed to facilitate learning through active involvement in seminar discussions, workshops and team building activities.
To successfully participate in this program, students will need internet access, and a computing device (preferably a laptop or desktop, a webcam and microphone). Students can expect our remote studies to involve 4 or 8 hours of synchronous (scheduled) coursework per week (depending on credit option), using Canvas and Zoom.
Note: This program may be taken for 4 or 8 credits. Students selecting the 8-credit option are expected to perform a 4-credit Individual Learning project or In-program internship learning project. The content of the project or internship must relate to the program and must be approved by the faculty by the end of the first week of the quarter.
