Designed for students with some ceramics experience, this course delves deeper into the art of ceramic expression. Prior completion of a college-level ceramics course is highly recommended. Students will refine their skills in both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques while cultivating a unique thematic style. Through lectures and demonstrations, the course explores various ceramic processes and contemporary approaches that showcase clay as a powerful medium for expression. Assignments will challenge students to master intermediate wheel-throwing techniques and explore larger sculptural forms. Emphasis will be placed on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and concept development, with regular group critiques providing valuable feedback on completed projects.
