One Washington (OneWA) is a state initiative intending to modernize the enterprise administrative functions for finance, procurement, budget, human resources and payroll. This initiative will impact all state agencies, the three branches of state government, institutions of higher education, state businesses, and many state residents. One Washington will help ensure state decision makers have access to data that is accurate and timely. The initiative will help standardize common business processes across agencies and improve service delivery for all Washingtonians.

This course will help students develop budgeting skills to navigate analytical logic behind compensation modeling, and data driven decision tools essential for the transition to the OneWA era. Guided by equity principles and motivated by public service values, students will gain knowledge in general budgeting and financial management concepts and will develop skills in using cost analysis frameworks and financial reporting.
