Financial Management and Economics for Public Enterprises and Organizations

This program is for students interested in the successful development and financial operation of public organizations and social enterprises. Students can expect to gain a foundational level of knowledge in business economics and financial management -- essential knowledge for public managers. The topics covered in this program will include but are not limited to: Business finance (financial accounting and managerial accounting), public investment decisions and planning, macroeconomic fiscal and monetary policies, international business finance.

This program is designed to facilitate learning through active involvement in seminar discussions, workshops and team building activities. Students can expect the remote teaching to be approximately 4 hours of synchronous (scheduled) and 4 hours of asynchronous coursework per week using the Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom. This is the second of two classes that comprise the Financial Management Certificate. Students should take Financial Management and Economics for Business Enterprises, or the equivalent, to be prepared for Financial Management and Economics for Public Enterprises and Organizations.
