This program is for students interested in the successful development and financial operation of private business enterprises. Students can expect to gain foundational knowledge and skills in business finance and economics – essential for business entrepreneurs and managers. Learning objectives include but not limited to: basic financial accounting for service and merchandising businesses, financial analysis, product costing and pricing strategies, business microeconomics, budgeting and taxation, investment decision and risk assessment methodologies.
This fully remote program is designed to facilitate learning through active involvement in seminar discussions, workshops and team learning activities. Students can expect the remote on-line learning to be approximately 4 hours of synchronous (scheduled) and 4 hours of asynchronous coursework per week using the Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom. For the asynchronous portion of the program, students will engage in case study projects and other activities that integrate learning materials with real life situations and issues.
This is the first of two classes that comprise the Financial Management Certificate at Evergreen. Courses must be taken in sequential order.
