Interpersonal communication skills are the behaviors and strategies individuals use to engage and interact effectively with others. These skills are essential for developing productive relationships with diverse colleagues, contributing to a positive and healthy work environment, and enhancing overall workforce well-being. This course will explore key topics such as communication, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and collaboration, with a focus on applying these skills successfully in the workplace as both team members and leaders. Students will gain a solid understanding of the communication process, including verbal and non-verbal communication, and the barriers that can impede effective interactions. Through a combination of seminars, group activities, reflective assignments, and a final research paper, students will bridge theory and practice to cultivate strong interpersonal communication skills that are vital for professional success.

This class is an online course, with learning activities completed through Canvas and class meetings conducted via Zoom on Saturdays.
