This is a  studio course on three-dimensional woodcarving and design. Students will learn how to properly and safely use tools to work in fresh alder, cherry, or maple; including how to move from concept to design, how to remove wood and texture the wood surface, and how to finish their work.

Students will carve their own bowls, each one unique to the student's identity, culture and creative expression. Previous experience with doing three-dimensional art will be beneficial; a commitment to learning and practicing safety protocols is expected. We will meet on Saturday afternoons Noon-4 in Pay3q’ali on the Indigenous Arts campus.
