In this second quarter of a year-long sequence students will continue learning how to function in Japanese in everyday situations by learning useful expressions and basic sentence structures. Hiragana proficiency is required. Students will learn more katakana and elementary kanji characters. Japanese culture and society will be discussed throughout the course. This is a good preparatory course for students interested in participating in Evergreen's exchange program with University of Miyazaki or University of Hyogo in Japan.
