This intermediate to advanced Literary Arts and Studies program provides students with a forum for intensive practice in creative writing and offers the possibility for the development or completion of Capstone projects in fiction writing and literary criticism. It is intended for students who have completed entry level and some intermediate study in Literary Arts or Humanities or have other significant college-level experience in writing and reading literary texts. Students will get the most out of the program if they have a project in mind or the readiness to develop one quickly.

This program will be a lively forum for sharing work, discussing ideas, building creative practices, and developing  skills and habits of a working writer. As students develop their projects, they will also get to experiment with a range of other challenges related to the literary life: conducting research, submitting work for publication, small-scale editing, design, and publication, discussion of shared readings, participating in and designing writing workshops and activities, applying for fellowships, and drafting reviews and short pieces on craft.
