Photography: Studio Practice

This class will focus on techniques and concepts of photography in the context of both continuous and strobe-based lighting studio practices. Working digitally, students will gain experience with studio grip equipment and electronic flash lighting techniques; still-life and portrait photography in a studio environment as well as on-location shoots using professional-grade lighting equipment. Emphasis will be placed on the production of a professional-quality portfolio which will demonstrate advanced knowledge of the studio and image production (large format printing with attention on color accuracy) on a conceptual theme of the student's choice. 

The class will meet for two hours, twice per week. Students should expect to work an additional 4-6 hours outside of class on project development.
