This course introduces students to the core concepts and tools of project management through the lens of social and organizational impact. Designed for students with little or no prior experience in organizational project-based work, the course provides a structured introduction to project-management processes including defining goals, assessing risk, developing timelines, facilitating stakeholder communication, managing resources, and evaluating outcomes. Students will begin by working with case studies and faculty-defined scenarios to build core competencies, then gradually engage in guided development of their own project plans. Emphasis will be placed on culturally responsive planning, systems thinking, and aligning projects with ethical and strategic priorities. Coursework will include collaborative simulations, reflective planning exercises, and hands-on team projects to help students develop practical skills in both leading and contributing to project teams.
