Taught By:
“Salish Sea Landscapes and Waterscapes” is a 4-credit course that focuses on areas of modern western Washington and British Columbia including Puget Sound, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the Strait of Georgia, and surrounding watersheds. Students will examine contemporary political, social, and environmental issues, such as Tribal/First Nation and federal/state/provincial government relations, economic and urban development, and the impact of global climate change. In order to explore these interrelated topics, this course will investigate the complex histories of peoples’ ever-changing relationships with their surroundings in the Salish Sea region.
