Your Evergreen degree is a mash-up of your individual brilliance with a set of academic and extracurricular choices. In this course we’ll focus on how you want to represent that mash-up in the Academic Statement and beyond. The Academic Statement is a graduation requirement, but it's also an opportunity to make meaning of all the work you've done to get to this point in your education.
Throughout the quarter we’ll balance celebrating and reflecting on your achievements with writing exercises that will help you create a document that represents the best of who you are as a student. We’ll also spend some time on related genres, like cover letters and graduate school application essays. And we’ll devote some attention to the practice of waymaking: What values and dreams will serve as your compass in the face of uncertainty? How will you share that vision with others? Who can support you in keeping that vision alive?
