This class will focus on addressing these questions and related questions that you may have about regulated environmental activities in your community. During this fall 2026 offering, we will study community industrial environmental hazards. These hazards refer to conditions that pose potential risks to both residents and the surrounding ecosystem. Through an interdisciplinary lens, we will draw from sociology, public health, environmental history, and environmental policy to investigate land-based environmental threats and their implications for local communities.
