EVERGREEN EXCHANGE* PROGRAMS
Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) - Germany
The HSWT program offers coursework in English at both the Weihenstephan and Triesdorf campuses. This opportunity is best for MES, MPA, and undergraduate students studying Food and Agriculture and/or Environmental Studies. The exchange opportunity with HSWT offers engaging and affordable international study.
Roskilde University (RUC) - Denmark
Roskilde, like Evergreen, was founded on the principle that effective, meaningful, alternative approaches to learning exist beyond the traditional models. Evergreen students can study at Roskilde in Fall semester, Spring semester or for the full Academic Year. Academic tracks include: Business Administration, Business Studies, Chemistry, Communication Studies, Computer Science, Cultural Encounters, Environmental Biology, Global Humanities, International Studies, Mathematics, Molecular Biology, Physics, Social Psychology in Everyday Life.
University of Hyogo - Japan
Students can study for up to two semesters focusing on Japanese language study, cultural studies, and business. The Global Business program is taught in English, while language coursework is taught in Japanese. The campus is located in Kobe, Japan.
University of Miyazaki - Japan
Students study for one to two semesters, generally using Evergreen Individual Learning Contracts to structure their studies. Students typically focus on Japanese language study, cultural studies of all types, and a self-designed research project. Students build both credit-bearing and audited courses at Miyazaki into their contracts. The campus is located in Miyazaki City which has a population of 400,000.
Wuyi University - China (currently suspended)
Wuyi University (WYU), located in Wuyishan, an international tourism city which is a world natural and cultural heritage site, is a public university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's republic of China.
*Exchange programs charge Evergreen students their regular tuition, and then students pay cost of living, international airfare, insurance, etc. This is often comparable to the cost of attendance at Evergreen in Olympia.

Academic Programs International (API)
API offers a variety of coursework in 23 countries. Students can enroll in regular course offerings, with opportunities for internships as well. Semester, quarter, and summer options are available. Evergreen's partnership includes several API-specific scholarships. Most students receive $1,000 - $2,000 per program in scholarship aid.
American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS)
AIFS offers study abroad for a Semester, Academic Year, Summer or January Term. Programs are available in 20+ countries. Scholarship and grant opportunities.
Arcos Learning Abroad
Arcos offers semester and summer programs in Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Spain. Coursework is taught in Spanish with some options in English.
Budapest Semesters in Math (BSM)
Spend one or two semesters in beautiful Budapest, Hungary with math-minded undergraduates from across North America studying mathematics with leading Hungarian scholars. Summer programs are also available.
Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE)
CGEE delivers high-impact, experiential programming in Africa, Europe, and Latin America. CGEE programs are designed to learn from communities and groups working for social change to inform thought and action for personal and societal transformation.
Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE)
CIEE is a large international education organization and provides study abroad programs in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Australia. Students can choose from a wide variety of disciplines, with programs taught either in English, the local language, or both.
Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS)
DIS is a non-profit study abroad foundation established in Denmark in 1959, with locations in Copenhagen and Stockholm. DIS provides semester, academic year, and summer programs taught in English, and offers high-impact learning experiences for upper-division undergraduate students from distinguished North American colleges and universities.
Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA)
IFSA was founded in 1988 on the Butler University campus as an independent nonprofit. Currently, IFSA offers semester and summer programs in 18 countries (South America, North America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania).
International Partnership for Service Learning (IPSL)
IPSL's mission is to engage students, educators, and grassroots organizations around the world in hands-on service to promote equitable relationships, social justice, sustainable change, and a commitment to our shared humanity. Programs can be customized to your duration parameters. Currently, IPSL operates in Argentina, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Peru, South Africa, Spain, and Vietnam.
PLU Gateway
Gateway semester programs are designed and managed by the Wang Center at Pacific Lutheran University. In the Fall, students can study in Oaxaca, Mexico, and in the Spring semester (Evergreen winter and spring quarters), students can study in Namibia or Trinidad & Tobago.
School for Field Studies (SFS)
Study climate change and the environment in 10 Countries. Get hands-on experience. All coursework is taught in English, except for coursework focused on local language learning.
SIT Study Abroad
SIT Study Abroad programs are developed around a framework of the most critical global issues (CGIs) of the day. SIT programs are interdisciplinary and a great fit to compliment an Evergreen education. Most programs address two CGIs within specific cultural and geographical contexts or comparatively across several countries and continents.
University Studies Abroad Consortium
USAC, a nonprofit organization since 1982, has provided students with life-changing opportunities to live and learn in countries around the globe. USAC offers more than 50 affordable, authentic study abroad programs in 26 countries, and strives to provide students with ample opportunities to become engaged, global citizens.
Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand/Aotearoa)
This is a direct-enroll option at Victoria University of Wellington based in Wellington, New Zealand. The university enrolls over 20,000 students, including about 3,000 international students, and offers a large variety of coursework.
Wildlands Studies
Wildlands Studies programs are equivalent to upper division classes at most universities. Students have about 280 hours of direct contact with faculty, and complete field exercises, presentations, written exams, term papers and daily entries in field journals. There’s also assigned reading and discussion of reading assignments. Successful completion of the program will earn up to 15 quarter credits, which is conferred from the College of the Environment at Western Washington University. Fall, winter, and spring programs run for 6 weeks.
*Consortium programs do not charge Evergreen tuition. Instead students are charged a $425 Consortium Enrollment Fee from Evergreen, and then students pay the program fee to the external organization, and any additional expenses. Program costs can vary widely.
