The purpose of this class is to provide TRIO students with academic support, tools, and resources to promote a successful transition beyond Evergreen.
Topics covered will include identification of personal and work values, strengths, and interests, informational interviews, resume and cover letter design, interviewing techniques, and development of self-directed job search (including internet/web job search resources). Students will also learn about graduate degree programs as an alternative path after graduation.
Throughout the quarter, students will also focus on crafting and editing their Academic Statements which can be used to refine their learning journeys and help articulate their career and/or graduate school goals.
Students will be expected to actively participate in seminars, lectures, and workshops, and will earn two credits in reflective writing and professional skills development.
