In this program, you’ll embark on a comprehensive journey through the fundamentals of User Experience (UX) research. UX focuses on the interaction between users and software, aiming to ensure that the products are both functional and enjoyable to use. UX research involves systematically investigating users' needs and behaviors to inform the design and development process.
We’ll cover how to perform literature reviews, dive into both qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, discuss research ethics, and explore UX heuristics. Throughout the course, you’ll engage in user testing with live subjects, employing at least one qualitative and one quantitative method. You'll then analyze the collected data to extract valuable insights. Finally, you'll share your findings through a written paper and a class presentation. Prepare to gain hands-on experience and develop a robust understanding of UX research methodologies!
Students will be expected to identify their research subject by the end of the first week, so come ready with ideas about the software systems you might want to explore.
