This class is the culmination of Evergreen’s Woodworking Foundations Certificate Program. It is reserved for students who have completed three previous Certificate offerings: Woodworking: Enclosures and Containers, Woodworking: Frames and Surfaces, and one Woodworking: Special Topics offering (qualified non-Certificate students may be admitted with prior faculty approval). This course focuses on student originated work. Students will complete a summative final research and studio project in consultation with the Woodworking faculty, comprised of research and writing, studio work, work statements, and public presentations. They will be expected to work collaboratively with their peers to do their studio work and to make their final presentations to the community. 

This is the final course in the Woodworking Foundations: Craft, Culture, and Sustainability Certificateat Evergreen. This course must be taken after completion of all other required coursework.

Registration

Students must complete all other required coursework in the Woodworking Foundations: Craft, Culture, and Sustainability Certificate before taking this course. This includes Woodworking: Enclosures and Containers, Woodworking: Frames and Surfaces, and one of the following electives:

Woodworking Special Topics: Laminations-Bentwood Forms

Woodworking Special Topics: Seating

Woodworking Special Topics: Multiples

Signature Required

Students must have woodworking background in specific areas to join this class. Contact the faculty for additional details and signature override.
