I am an oral historian, multimedia storyteller, and educator. I teach as a practicing multimedia storyteller and memory activist who has facilitated dynamic, community-driven oral history and storytelling projects in the area since I returned to make Olympia my home in 2008. I have extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and am the founder of Window Seat Media, a community oral history organization. You can read more about my work on the website. Window Seat Media.

Teaching Style
Being an educator takes care, intention, and cultural humility. I strive to create a safe, supportive learning community where multiple voices and truths can be present at the same time, and where we practice critical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills, question assumptions, listen deeply, and make room for complexity and nuance. I am especially invested in experiential learning and learning from the lived experiences of people in our families and communities.
