I am an ecologist and botanist whose research focuses on conserving biodiversity in an era of global change. I have published numerous studies on plant and lichen community responses to altered fire regimes, habitat fragmentation, and climate change. More recently, much of my research has focused on the applied conservation of rare plants in the Pacific Northwest. I have received several grants from federal agencies supporting my research. I currently serve as the President of the California Lichen Society. To learn more about my research, please visit (my website) http://jesseedmiller.com.

I have received several awards for teaching and research. My research has been covered by numerous media outlets including National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, and Science Magazine, and I have appeared on Science Friday.
