Anthony Levenda is a faculty member and the Director of the Center for Climate Action and Sustainability at Evergreen. His work focuses on building community around climate action, sharing "I approach teaching as an opportunity for collective work that builds capacities in our learning communities".
"My goal is to help students prepare for success in their educational and career pathways, and to contribute to positive societal change".
Anthony developed and taught the Climate Policy and Action Certificate through Professional and Continuing Education at Evergreen. Dr. Levenda worked on this certificate "to help students learn about climate science, the policy process, and different approaches to climate advocacy". Certificates at Evergreen enable non-admitted students to learn new skills and promote their professional development.

In addition to his role a faculty member and Director for the Center for Climate Action and Sustainability, Anthony is currently working on research focusing on energy justice, electricity infrastructure, and net-zero energy strategies in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Levenda has written often about energy, urban political ecology, and critical theory among other topics and in 2023 co-edited the book, Urban Climate Justice.
