Evergreen Multimedia Arts Internship

The Audio Intern builds and deploys the technical, instructional, organizational, and project management skills needed to successfully plan and execute studio and live sound productions. 

This intern works alongside the Audio and Music Technology Lab Specialist in routine maintenance and instructional support of Evergreen’s various audio facilities, and is also integrated into all facets of the production process with the Electronic Media team in support of live and studio production workorders. 

From updating patch bay documentation to giving studio proficiencies, the Audio Intern assists in audio studio management; through crafting block diagrams for live events and working as A1 on large-scale live-in-studio or performance hall multimedia productions, the Audio Intern is also able to develop skills in live sound, sound for video, and more.

The Music Technology Intern will work alongside the Media Technician to maintain and repair electronic audio equipment throughout the Audio Studios and Music Technology Labs. 

This intern will calibrate and maintain tape machines and electronic instruments, solder and desolder electronic components, test and troubleshoot equipment problems, clean dirty potentiometers and switches, provide studio proficiencies, and give instructional support to students. 

The Music Technology Intern will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in electronic theory and design, music production, sound design, acoustics, and studio management. They will also work on productions as needed in support of the Electronic Media team.

The Video Intern builds and deploys the technical, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills needed to successfully plan and execute media productions. 

The Video Intern learns to produce, direct, and engineer productions using professional video equipment/software and the Center for Creative and Applied Media (television studio) to assist and lead on a wide range of multimedia productions. 

In collaboration with the Video Producer and the Audio/Media Producer, this position gains professional post-production skills through regular multimedia editing and content management. 

The Video Intern develops foundational skills in a multitude of production roles with analog and digital equipment, in facilities troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, and in television studio operations. Additionally, the Video Intern will learn about data support systems such as routing, network storage, and remote studio camera and lighting control systems in the Production Control Room and Media Engineering Room. 

This intern position participates in training sessions and production activities to acquire skills for supporting media productions as part of the Electronic Media team. 

In collaboration with the Media Services staff, the intern develops and delivers formal and informal multimedia instruction for academic programs, media services trainings, and one-on-one sessions with students, faculty, and staff. 

Under the supervision of Media Services staff, the interns will learn industry broadcast media production standards by creating high quality content to support instructional functions of the department and to enhance faculty outreach for media integration in the curriculum.

The Multimedia Production Intern builds and deploys the technical, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills needed to successfully plan and execute media productions. 

This intern is integrated into all facets of the production process, including pre-production planning, outlining technical needs, crafting block diagrams and other production documentation, client relations, post-production editing and content management, and small group training. 

With the support of the media staff producers, and in collaboration with other interns, the Production Intern acts as a central hub for produced audio and video content management. 

This intern will also lead and serve as a crew member on a wide range of productions. Additional duties include media workshop instruction, work order database oversight, and maintenance and technical support of production equipment, labs, and facilities. 

This intern position participates in training sessions and production activities to acquire skills for supporting media productions. 

In collaboration with the Media Services staff, the intern develops and delivers formal and informal multimedia instruction for academic programs, Media Services trainings, and one-on-one with students, faculty, and staff. 

Under the supervision of Media Services staff, the interns will learn industry media production standards by creating high quality content to support instructional functions of the area and to enhance faculty outreach for media integration in the curriculum.

The Photography Interns build and deploy the technical, instructional, organizational, and project management skills related to photography and the operations of Photoland and Media Services. 

The interns work under the supervision of the Head of Instructional Photography and the Photography Lab Supervisor with support from Media Services staff and in collaboration with the EM interns. 

Photoland interns will lead, serve, and collaborate on wide range of projects and tasks with all staff members in Media Services and across campus. Additional duties include: providing instructional support to Evergreen’s curriculum, conducting maintenance of photography facilities and equipment, documenting events and activities, conducting proficiency trainings, performing curatorial work for Gallery Photoland, and assisting with technical support across Photoland’s facilities and services. 

They will work full-time in a fast paced hybrid environment as crew members for print, film processing, and photographic production projects. 

Interns will lead and attend workshops and training sessions while making steady progress over the duration of the internship on their year-long projects. 

The interns will report weekly to their field supervisor on their progress with their projects as well as their defined goals and are expected to have work to show each week for critique sessions.
