Emeritus faculty are former regular faculty members who have been awarded emeritus status by the Board of Trustees in accord with their policy adopted June, 1992. "Emeritus faculty" is an honorary title which does not carry teaching or other duties, but which may (depending on fiscal constraints and state law) entitle the holder to access to certain college resources and facilities.
