The Basic Needs Center facilitates access to necessities such as housing, food, clothing, and hygiene products, and community resources at no cost to students.

The Basic Needs Center CAB135 will be closed during the Thanksgiving Holiday Week. If you are in need of immediate food resources please visit tcfb.org for the nearest community food pantry.

The Basic Needs Center is open for Drop-ins 1—5 p.m. Wednesdays, and Monday or Friday for appointments. Please schedule an appointment to come in, meet with us, or make a donation. Appointment slots are 30 minutes. 

 

Students unable to come to the Olympia campus are encouraged to contact us so we can help you access services and resources near you.

Where is the Basic Needs Center?

CAB 135

We are located in the College Activities Building, room 135. The Center is accessible from the outside of the building, just across from the Costantino Recreation Center.

Resources and Services

We have a variety of items in-stock at our Center for students. Students wishing to visit the space and get these resources should schedule an appointment or reach out to us for more information. 

Shelf-stable Food Pantry

In addition to the Evergreen Campus Food Bank, we also have a pantry of shelf-stable items for students. 

Clothing

We provide clothing, including gender-affirming clothing items, for students. Fitting rooms are available in the Center so you can make sure you look and feel comfortable.

Hygiene and Personal Care 

We have a variety of hygiene products, such as shampoo and conditioner, menstrual items, toothbrushes, and PPE. 

Other Items

We also stock many other items students may need, including school supplies, home items and cookware, cleaning supplies, books, and plant care items. 

Evergreen Food Bank

Evergreen has partnered with the Thurston County Food Bank to create a pop-up food bank at Evergreen Olympia for the community. 

The food bank pop-up occurs every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 2 - 4 pm. Food can be picked up the Basic Needs Center.

Referral Services 

While we work with a variety of campus and local community partners to assist students with basic needs, we also offer referral services for students via the Unite Us platform.

Donations

Donations from our community go a long way to supporting student needs at Evergreen. We accept in-person donations from students, staff, faculty, the community at the Basic Needs Center year round.
