I have been teaching visual art at Evergreen since 2016. As a painter, I also work in installation and public art. I have served as an artist-in-residence at the Amazon headquarters, Furman University, in Spain, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Key West, Vermont, the Burren College of Art in Ireland, the Creative Alliance and School 33 Art Center in Baltimore, and at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. I have completed public art projects for the Maryland Department of Public Health and the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport. I was awarded a grant to publish an artist book and spent time at MASS MoCA working on the sequel. This fall I will be the first artist-in-residence at the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium.
Collaborations with different artists in my close-knit community have been vital to the development of my work, and I look forward to future opportunities.

Teaching Style
I strongly believe in the power of an enthusiastic teacher. I gain great satisfaction in witnessing the students’ growing independence. My highest priority is to help students learn how to educate themselves. I create a positive environment by teaching with high expectations while encouraging experimentation and hard work. I promote the interdisciplinary applications of a medium while maintaining a hands-on practice. Above all, an art education builds incredible problem solvers.
